HALLE/LEMBEEK RENT 320 (!!)/MONTH COSTS --------/MONTH On the ground floor, you enter through the short entrance hall with a wardrobe; this is followed by the spacious, long living room with a working wood-burning stove (Schouwmat Straat van Hormuz), a tuned piano, and plenty of seating space in reclining armchairs. You will also find several baskets here where Kiki the cat sometimes sleeps. The living room flows seamlessly into the fully equipped kitchen: dishwasher, recently installed gas stove, and sufficient workspace to cook for multiple families. The skylight and door to the long garden, which is both shady and sunny, provide pleasant natural light. You will also find several baskets here where Kiki the cat sometimes sleeps. Through the kitchen, you can therefore access either the garden or the bathroom. This one comes with what must be one of the better showers in the country: a not particularly large walk-in shower, but with temperature adjustable to perfection—"ma, why are you doing this?"—warm is also an option! Taking a bath is also an option, using the plastic bathtub (visible under the stairs in the living room photos); Jens fits in it with plenty of room at 1.89m. You will also find a washing machine here where Kiki the cat sometimes takes a nap. The middle floor is where we find Steven's room, as well as a second toilet and plenty of storage and hobby space. You will also find several baskets here where Kiki the cat sometimes sleeps. The second floor is where we find Jens's room, but also YOURS! In the photos, it is still being used by Steven, but in terms of furnishing, something fun can certainly be done with it. It measures 4.5 by 3 meters, though partly under a sloping roof. Your room is also located on the east side of the building, so during heatwaves it remains very cool for an attic room! Street noise is also more of a Jens problem! The Velux window overlooks the garden and the trees along the Halse Vaart, providing sufficient light, but the room can also be made completely dark in the middle of the day. A small note: especially during the first week, Kiki the cat will show a great deal of interest in your room. Lembeek station is a two-minute walk away, and the Okay supermarket is right next door. Halle, a station with more foot traffic, is a ten-minute bike ride away, and Brussels is also quickly accessible in several ways. You will find, and can find, support there from: Steven, a medical engineer at Gedinge who, in his spare time, is a leisure engineer and repairs *everything*, enjoys riding and tinkering with his motorcycle. As a thirty-something, he also still enjoys his final years of going out. Jens, a shelf-stocking engineer at Colruyt who plays guitar in his spare time and hates everything about society, likes sitting up and tinkering with his sim racing setup (please don't Google what that is). He also loves melting while watching Kiki, even when she isn't actually doing anything special. As an advanced thirty-something, he doesn't go out anymore. So, a social, lively place, but definitely not a student or party den – references from previous housemates regarding safety/cleanliness are certainly available – people with a cat allergy would do best to refrain.
