Kortrijk is one of those cities that tends to surprise people. It's got history, a real local scene, great food, and a riverside that has been completely transformed in recent years. And from the Gentsestraat, you're right in the middle of it all.
When summer comes around, head to Café 't Plein, a laid-back spot tucked inside the city park, with a beautiful terrace under the trees, cold Belgian beers, and a crowd that knows how to enjoy a sunny afternoon. It's one of those places you end up staying at for hours without noticing.
A few minutes by bike and you'll hit the Leie canal, where you'll find the iconic Broeltorens: two medieval towers that have been watching over the city since the 14th century.
The riverbanks around them have been recently renovated and are now lined with some of the best bars and restaurants in the area. Va et Vient is a standout: great food, seasonal ingredients, and a terrace with views of the towers that's hard to beat.
Access
The train station is just a short walk away, making it easy to get around Belgium without any hassle.
