From June-July, we are renting out our newly renovated cohousing in Ghent! For lovers of stylish 19th-century townhouses who also happen to have a green thumb.
The property is located in Ekkergem near the Rozemarijnbrug and features 7 large bedrooms, 3 shared bathrooms, and very spacious common areas, including an immense garden.
The home is currently unfurnished because we assume everyone has some furniture. However, should anything be missing, we will sort it out.
In May, we are still busy painting and cleaning (the photos are from April, so you will have to imagine the paint yourself for now ;-)), but interested parties are certainly welcome to come and take a look by appointment via benoit@crosshair.be.
A number of possible viewing dates are listed in the advertisement, but if those do not suit you, we will find a suitable time together.
Personal space
The seven private bedrooms are all at least 20m² in size. A great deal of attention has been paid to sound insulation between the rooms (walls and floors) and to good blackout curtains.
The rooms are unfurnished, but if that is a problem, we will find a solution.

We are looking for someone who
We embrace diversity. Color, religion, sexual orientation, etc., do not matter to us. On the other hand, we do believe that living together works best when your lifestyles align somewhat. This is one of the reasons why we do not accept students. Furthermore, the rooms and the house's furnishings are intended for the continuous occupancy of one person per room.
It is perhaps unnecessary to say, but we expect you to live together with respect for each other's boundaries, and to regularly make the necessary agreements regarding this.
You enjoy sharing a part of your home with others, and you ensure that it is just as pleasant for others to share a house with you.
As for pets: cats are okay, dogs are a step too far :-)

The property is rented out as a whole for €3,975/month excluding utilities (electricity, gas, water).
Room rates vary between €550 - €600.
Important: The rent will be reduced during the first few months, in line with the actual number of residents at that time. This gives any initial group that is incomplete time to find tenants to complete the group.
The security deposit amounts to three months' rent but may be built up in stages in the same way.
Contracts for utilities are entered into by the group of tenants. I estimate that this adds up to €500/month in total.
The contract is tailored to a cohousing arrangement.

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of Ghent's city center, close to the Coupure and on the right side to head to the Watersportbaan and the Blaarmeersen.
Close enough to the center to walk there, but far enough away to unwind ;-)
Access
The house is easily accessible by car from the ring road, although a bike is of course always more convenient ;-)
There are tram stops at the beginning of the street and bus stops on the ring road (a five-minute walk). By tram, it takes about ten minutes to Gent Sint-Pieters station.
