It concerns an old townhouse in the South of Antwerp, where the third floor has been converted into a studio for one person (60 m²). The staircase and hallway are shared. On the second floor, there is also a small apartment where one person lives. We, a couple (and the landlords), live downstairs and on the first floor. There is little shared space, but residents are considerate of one another, and there is a sense of trust. The studio on the third floor and the small apartment can be completely locked. The downstairs and first floors cannot.
Personal space
The private area is furnished with a basic sofa, bed, kitchen, etc., which can be further supplemented if necessary. There is a private bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, toilet, and storage space. This space is completely private. However, it is expected that if, for example, someone comes to stay over or the tenant is away for an extended period, this is reported.
