Our home is located in rural Poesele, one of the smallest villages in Flanders. The domain is 5250m² and includes a main house, 2 gîtes, workshop, barn, sheep shed, workshop space, orchard, amphibian pool and plenty of space to garden and create a permaculture oasis. Our green paradise offers delicious abundance that we creatively process into all kinds of delicacies. Preserving, drying, fermenting, we experiment with it.

BE SURE TO CHECK THE INFO ABOUT OUR DOENING DAYS (either under events on our Facebook page or on our website). EVERY FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH WE HAVE A DOENING DAY WITH AN INFO SESSION, OPEN WORK DAY, AND A COZY EVENING ACTIVITY. THIS CAN ALREADY DISCOVER OUR PROJECT, ALLOWING US TO ACT QUICKLY IF THE GITE BECOMES AVAILABLE.
There are 2 gites. This gite (96m²) overlooks the garden and has a wood-burning stove. The living room and kitchen are located on the ground floor, while the bathroom and bedroom are on the first floor. Authentic patterned tiles or wooden flooring are present throughout.
The roof was recently renovated: a thick layer of ecological wood fiber wool and new skylights for extra warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
The rental price for the gites is €760. Electricity, gas, water, and electricity are not included. Internet/telephone, fire insurance, and other common costs are shared by all residents.

The community consists of a dozen enthusiasts between the ages of 7 and 42 who are eager to create a place together where we take care of ourselves, the other and what surrounds us.
We are passionate about connection, ecology, DIY care products, sustainability, permaculture, self-sufficiency, reusable energy, an ethical bank, local and organic food, baking bread, compost toilet, ... Consciousness is a common thread in our choices.
We share and inspire each other to make this vision a reality.
These things we like to do togther
We eat together once a week and usually have a meeting afterwards. We work and garden together. Every first Saturday of the month there is an open job day. In the evening we organize a relaxing activity: dance parties, games, campfire, music performance,...
The center of Nevele with shops, banks, cafes and a very good chip shop is 2.5 km away.
Access
The De Groene Doening residential community is located at 28 Beentjesstraat in Poesele (Nevele).
Bus: The 'Poesele Beentjesstraat' bus stop is 200 m away, which takes you to Ghent on school days with line 15. At 2.5 km is the bus stop 'Nevele Meigemstraat' on line 16 (line Deinze - Ghent) and 86 (line Deinze Bellem) See www.delijn.be.
Dial-a-bus: The dial-a-bus only runs on request. It has no fixed route or timetable. The bus only stops at De Lijn stops that have been requested in advance at the dial-a-bus switchboard. You can reserve the dial-a-bus on +32/(0)9 211 91 91. Dial-a-bus 125: Zulte - Deinze – Nevele stops at our bus stop.

Bicycle: After 16.3 km of cycling you are at the station of Gent-Sint-Pieters. De Groene Doening is located between bicycle junction 97 and 99 of the Meetjesland. There is a bicycle shed in the driveway.
Train: Hansbeke train station (Brussels - Ostend railway line) is 5 km away, with a smooth connection to Ghent (12 minutes) and Bruges (25 minutes). The train timetable can be found on www.nmbs.be. Landegem train station (Brussels - Ostend railway line) is 7 km away. There you can rent a bike via Blue-bike. The train station of Deinze is 9.4 km away (with many connection options, including towards Ghent, De Panne, Kortrij). You can also rent a bicycle there via Blue-bike.
Car: At 3 km you will find a spacious carpool parking on the Nevele ramp of the E40. We have a parking lot for visitors at the front of our driveway. If it is full, you can park on the street, on the strip that resembles a footpath. At less than 500m you will find the municipal car park near the church of Poesele, next to the football canteen.
