Something more about your co-residents
The project was built for Wim, a 45-year-old man with an intellectual disability. Wim has lived in a facility for years, but living in a group is not ideal. He is looking for people who want to come live with him and provide him with the support and security he needs.
Who is Wim? Wim likes to be outside. He works on two different care farms on weekdays, in Boechout and Nijlen. So he is busy during the day, you don't have to worry about that. He is rightly proud of his work. Wim is a great animal lover and he also has a warm heart for children. You can certainly build a nice bond with Wim.
When Wim comes home from his daytime activities, he likes company. Have a drink together and talk about the past day, cook together or do odd jobs. During the evenings, Wim can enjoy playing the guitar, taking a walk together or just quietly watching television. Wim would like to have you around. Until now, Wim spends his weekends with his parents.
In the morning he needs help to get into action. This means that you wake him up, have breakfast together and help him leave for work.
Anyone who lives with Wim and can offer him the support he needs can count on compensation. You pay no rent and Wim also takes care of the utilities (electricity, heating, water, WiFi).
These things we like to do togther
Wim has a nice healthcare budget available. This means that further support for Wim can be organized in various ways. A number of possibilities are:
- As a partner in the cohousing, you will also become Wim's personal supervisor and you will receive a negotiable salary.
- You live with Wim and take care of Wim at times when no personal supervisor is present. You are also nearby at night in case he needs you. We will work with you to determine when an additional supervisor is needed.
