The shared spaces and private bedrooms are spread over the top 3 floors of an old "herenhuis"-type mansion and include an authentic hallway and newly renovated staircase which will take you to the beautiful and newly renovated living room on the first floor. It's the most beautiful space of the house, full of light, with a high ceiling, tall windows and beautiful, authentic wooden floors. You can get cozy in the large leather couch, or bring down you laptop to enjoy a nice workspace, or enjoy a dinner together. The fully renovated kitchen may not even be finished when you come visit but will be completely done by the time you move in (in the meantime, we use the older kitchen downstairs (see photos). Finally, there is a freshly painted bathroom with a large shower. The bedrooms are on the second and third floor. There is a laundry room in the basement which is available to you for 69 euros/year (little over 5 euros/per month). Pictures of the shared spaces will get updated as soon as the painting has dried and the furniture is back in place. Or, come visit us to see how it feels!
Personal space
There are 3 bedrooms. The small one "East" on the second floor, on the backside of the building. It's very quiet and pleasant room, bright in the mornings as the sunrise hits the window (430 euros per month + bills). The large room "West" next to it, also on the second floor, on the street side, opposite from the cute hospital square which has trees and fountains. This room has three windows and lots of light in the afternoon and evening (570 euros per month + bills). Finally, we have our top floor attic "North" which has Velux tilted windows on both sides, which allows for a nice breeze on hot summer days and a lot of natural light even in winter (550 euros per month + bills).

We are looking for considerate and kind people who enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, feel comfortable spending time alone and equally like socialising with roommates. We enjoy sports, being in nature, reading and writing, painting, going to concerts, picknicks when the weather allows it... Being high on hygiene and self-care is key. In our experience, people who look after themselves, also clean up after themselves :) We are big on clear but kind and respectful communication, both hearing the concerns of the people you live with and voicing you own. Respecting your own boundaries and those of others is key to a harmonious household, in which we'll happily welcome you. Interest in personal growth and meditation is a plus but, obviously, not required. While we like men and women equally, this is a home for girls only.

The house has a long history of being the favourite dwelling for artists and we still embrace the creative spirit. Case in point, one of our currently remaining resident studies painting at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts and she's lovely. However, we have become a bit wary of getting too many creatives together. (See description below also on atmosphere), so we have become much more selective to make sure the residents fit well together. Our newest member, Elena, is 28 years old, originally from Spain and working full time.
These things we like to do togther
This is a health-centred household, with optimistic, cheerful, food-conscious (pescatarian and vegetarian welcome), yoga and pilates practicing, and kind young women who enjoy being *clean* and organised. So, no smoking, no pets, no constant all-nighters (sorry, fashion students, we love you but we need our sleep...) While there used to be some issues regarding cleanliness (i.e. Creative Chaos - if you can handle that - it's great!) in the past when the first floor was also rented out for a total of 5 girls, we now have a completely renovated space for just 3 people to share and would like to keep it perfect for a long time. There is a move-in and move-out inspection, and a shared responsibility when it comes to damages or cleaning fees from the shared space. Spontaneous get togethers and the occasional dinner date are common.

We get cleaning help every week (3 hours/week) for the shared places. On average, this costs 120 euros per month for the whole house. Because the landlord pays an equal part too, we only pay 30 euros/month each. You get access to the laundry room in the basement for 69 euros per year (little over 5 euros/month) If you are looking for cheap accommodation, it's best you seek elsewhere. We are lucky to be able to put quality and comfort above cost, and are happy to pay for it. -- Please check which room comes available when. The prices vary: East: 430/month - West: 570/month - North: 570/month Contracts run for full years (1 to 4 years), typically starting from August 1st or September 1st.
Centrally located between the "Stadpark" city park and the Harmonie and Albertpark. Jumbo grocery store and fruit & vegetable market (open 7 days/week) are right around the corner. Lidl nearby. Hospital across the street. University campuses are 10 minutes cycling away. So is the Olympic pool :)
Access
There is a A-Velo bike station in our street. Trams around the corner in both the Lange Leemstraat (#4) and Mechelsesteenweg (#7), and various tram (#2, #6, and #15) and bus lines (17 and X19) on the Belgielei -- all less than a 5-minute walk. Both Central Station and Antwerp-Berchem Station less than a 10-minute bike ride away.
